Our Team

Hedley Harris

CEO/ Head Instructor

Hedley was a true pioneer of this industry in South Africa, and after the 1985 recession HIT HARD, (FOR so many in SA), Hedley set off to the US to explore the art of auctioneering in a country where this trade was already flourishing.
He came back three weeks later, and in SA at that time, very few knew anything about auctioneering on a large scale. So that is how the SA College of Auctioneering opened its doors.
Hedley continues to advocate for the industry to be regulated, in a bid to root out unscrupulous business practises, fly-by-night operators and the sharks, who have over the years tainted the reputation of this fascinating industry.

Glen Harris

Director/ Instructor

There’s no denying your calling when auctioneering is in your blood. That is pretty much how auctioneer, Glen Harris, came into the game.
Together he and his dad have been, and continue to advocate for the industry to be regulated, in a bid to root out unscrupulous business practises, fly-by-night operators and the sharks, who have over the years tainted the reputation of this fascinating industry.
When asked about the incredible ability of auctioneers to speak at what appears to be the speed of light, Glen explains that every good auctioneer has a chant that forms the basis of the theatrics on the floor. Equally, at the college, one is taught to fly through number sequences both ascending and descending and it is only with many years of practise and more practise, that the art is truly refined.
Glen is now at the top of his game with over 20 years’ experience in the auctioneering of property, vehicles, movables, machinery, trucks, plant, jewellery, cycads and loads more.

Jeanine Di Bucci

Director/ Administration

When auctioneering is in your blood, and your father owns the SA College of Auctioneering, there’s no denying your calling. That is pretty much how auctioneer, Jeanine Di Bucci, came into the game.
Having watched her dad, Hedley Harris, operating on the auction floor from her early childhood days, there is very little if anything, that one can still teach Jeanine.
